Xbox One to Record Last 5 Minutes of Gameplay

By On 22nd July, 2013

The Xbox One will save the last 5 minutes of your gameplay when you give it the command to do so. The idea is that the console will always record but should something funny or totally awesome occur then you can tell your Xbox one to save the last 5 minutes of gameplay.

You will also be able to edit your videos on the fly, such things as adding titles, descriptions & voice overs in a matter of minutes.

This feature isn’t unique to the Xbox One however, the PS4 will also have the exact same feature, but it still isn’t known exactly how much footage you will be able to save. It was originally quoted at being anywhere between 7 and 15 minutes! But in light of the Xbox One reveal SCEE’s Neil brown was supposed to have actually said several, instead of seven.

So exact timings of how long the PS4 are unknown, but we do know that both consoles will feature this as well as the ability to stream games online for unlimited lengths of time. Presumably this footage could then be edited and produced via a pc.
