Preparation for Black Friday 2021 PS4 and PS5 deals:
Black Friday 2021 promises to be a big year for any player finally looking to pick up a PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5. Last year the latter released over a week beforehand on November 19th. But despite this, deep discounts on all things PS4 were still relatively few and far between.
November 26th, 2021 could be when this changes. Whether there’s an exclusive game you’ve been waiting to dip in price or you finally want to pick up a PSVR headset and immerse yourself in a new world, plenty of PS4 - and indeed PS5 - deals will be running rampant during Black Friday 2021 this year.
Pretty much every major UK retailer will be featuring attractive PS4 and PS5 deals from Black Friday onwards, with some even going ahead of time. In this guide we’ll be covering the best practices you can take to secure yourself a bargain buy on anything relating to either of Sony's console platforms, as well as featuring any early PlayStation deals for those that simply can’t wait until Black Friday 2021 rolls around proper. There’s likely to be hardly any PS5 offers and discounts due to the continued stock shortage. However, there might be one or two savings to be had on PS5 accessories and games, but the focus during the year’s biggest sales event will still firmly be on Sony’s last-generation console.
This is the guide you’ll want to be on when Black Friday 2021 arrives in a few months. Below you’ll find some early PS4/PS5 deals and we’ll continue to update it with new ones as they come in. PS5 pre-order stock might be quite limited, but there’s still so much to look forward to with PS4.

What Black Friday 2021 PS4 and PS5 Deals should you expect?
The biggest thing to watch out for in terms of PS4 deals during Black Friday 2021 is a deep discount on the console itself. Sony has remained stringent up until now to the PS4’s £249.99 price point, but with the PS5 now out (and having sold 10 million units) it only makes sense to provide prospective players with a cheaper alternative leading into Christmas. Last year saw the PlayStation 4 drop to around £230 as part of a bundle with a game included, so there’s every expectation that we’ll see it reduce to a very enticing £199.99 – or possibly even £150.
One major change this year is that more powerful mid-generation SKU no longer exists alongside the base PS4 model. The PlayStation 4 Pro didn't receive a deep discount during last year's event either, and the same is true this time seeing as it's no longer in production. No PS4 Pro deals during Black Friday 2021 means a great emphasis on the PS4 Slim and some potentially enticing PS5 consoles bundles. Don't expect the Solus PS5, however, to be dramatically discounted in its own right - you're most likely to see extra PS5 games thrown into the usual bundles, if anything. PS5 consoles are simply selling all too well.
Of course, PS5 and PS4 deals will also stretch to the games themselves. Sony's platform is home to some exceptional hits like God of War (2018), Horizon: Zero Dawn and most recently Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, all of which simply can’t be played anywhere else. Most of these are already deeply discounted after joining what’s called the ‘PlayStation Hits’ line-up, but expect to see a swathe of offers on a large section of the PS4’s library. PS5 game discounts will slightly differ, though, in that most of these titles have only released this year and so will be discounted on a retailer-by-retailer basis (rather than by PlayStation itself).
The massive spanner that could be in the works relates to PlayStation VR. The PS4 is the only home console to offer players the ability to affordably step into virtual reality, at present, and you’d think that the recent jump to PS5 might see Sony willing to drop its price. However, PSVR is indeed forwards compatible with the next-gen system, providing even more incentive for the Black Friday 2021 discounts to come around. Surely Sony will want to shift existing PSVR stock prior to its confirmed hardware successor? We’ll keep you posted with the best deals on PSVR as they come in.
Which UK retailers will have the best Black Friday 2021 PS4 and PS5 Deals?
Last year's event mostly took place online because of the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions that saw the UK lock down throughout November, but Black Friday 2021 should resemble something more familiar and embrace a hybrid model. The good news is that major UK retailers have already made online its primary focus for many years now. Currys, Amazon UK, Argos and GAME will each have their individual offers, hoping to entice over online consumers by enticing one another.
We at Console Deals will be keeping on top of all the retailers’ best PS4 and PS5 deals right here, utilising our bespoke price comparison software to promote the best offers quickly and promptly at their lowest price. The best thing you can do to prepare for Black Friday 2021 is to have a good idea of the products you want to buy before heading into it. Stock is likely to run out extremely fast wherever you shop, so by pinning the specific PS4 and PS5 deals you want before the big day itself, you’ll be at an advantage. Take a note of how much what you want is now, then compare it to the incoming sale price.
