The pre-owned PS5 refurbishment process
PS5 consoles when sent to a retailer or manufacturer will go through a series of checks and processes in order to find potential issues with the console and revert any that are there. The second-hand PS5 console will be restored to its factory standards, external ports will be checked for signs of any liquid damage and receive a deep and thorough clean in order to bring it to the best standards possible. After all checks and procedures have been taken out the console will then be available for sale and graded if it is in full working condition.
The refurbishment process should generally mean that these PS5s are in better condition than a second-hand console and due to most retailers offering a warranty for PS5 refurbs you can sleep soundly after purchasing.
Where can I buy a refurbished PS5 console?
At the time of writing, there are two main stores that are selling refurbished PS5 consoles those being eBay and MusicMagpie, we'd expect more retailers to follow suit as time goes on. One thing you will notice on our refurbished PS5 deals is that we list the actual condition of the console based on a grading system. These conditions are from worst to best: "Fair", "Good", "Very Good", and "Pristine" all the way up to "Manufacturer Refurbished". These conditions will as expected effect both the price and the physical condition of the console. A console which graded fair is likely going to have more cosmetic issues like surface scratches and bumps when compared to a console graded "Pristine". However, all refurbished PS5 consoles will be fully functional.
