Highly inspired by Greek mythology but infusing it with gameplay elements from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Immortals: Fenyx Rising is the new open-world action game coming to PS4, Xbox One and Switch as well as next-gen consoles. Players take on the role of the eponymous Fenyx, roaming a devastated land by fending off the evil present in the world’s seven distinct regions.

You’ll traverse the colourful world full of the Golden Isles in any way you can, whether that’s by climbing cliffs, riding mounts or gliding off mountain tops using the wings of Daedalus. All this ensures that every player’s experience with Immortals: Fenyx Rising will be noticeably distinct, even more so when you consider that Fenyx’s aesthetic and weapons loadout is fully customisable.

A beautiful world full of mythological beasts and monsters

All the enemies found in Immortals: Fenyx Rising take direction inspiration from famous monsters featured in Greek mythology. This includes minotaurs, cyclopses, and various other creatures that have also been designed exclusively for this game. You’ll battle these using a range of unique melee attacks, in addition to new god-like abilities you’ll unlock as you progress. The Fenyx you play as at the start of this game will be vastly different from the one at the end, as you quite literally come face to face with gods.

Complete challenges in the Vaults of Tartaros

Whereas Breath of the Wild littered the land with shrines, in Immortals: Fenyx Rising you’ll be completing platform and puzzle challenges found in what are called the Vaults of Taryaros. Successfully completing these will power up Fenyx so she can traverse a lot higher and farther, improving her stamina and strength to make her a force to me reckoned with.

Aerial and melee attacks add a new dimension to combat

The combat featured in Immortals: Fenyx Rising is incredibly dynamic, letting you go toe to toe with the likes of Medusa and other creatures either up close and personal or from afar. The latter you can do via unlockable aerial attacks or using Fenyx’s trusty bow and arrow. Alternatively, the land of the Golden Isles has plenty of legendary swords, axes and spears to add to your repertoire.
