Assassin’s Creed The Rebel Collection will mark the first time both Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Assassin’s Creed Rogue has been playable on Nintendo Switch, acting as an exclusive two-game collection bundles in these two remastered versions into one neat package. Both games take place within the Sprawling Assassin’s Creed timeline during the mercantilism period, setting you off amongst the high seas as well as the series standard mix of stealthing, exploring and climbing.

Both games feature the two already meaty campaigns as well as all DLC content released in the months after, rendering Assassin’s Creed The Rebel Collection as quite the value proposition. New features exclusive to this Nintendo Switch release include an optimized HUD, Joy-Con specific motion control aiming and full HD rumble. Whether played in handheld mode or experienced on the big screen, Assassin’s Creed The Rebel Collection is now the best way to experience Black Flag and Rogue.

Two massive open-world Assassin’s Creed games to get lost in

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Assassin’s Creed Rogue might not represent the new-school idea of the series as introduced in 2017’s Assassin’s Creed Origins, but both are still well-made open world games that do well to get you invested in the stories of Edward Kenway and Shay Patrick Cormac. Both adventures will easily take you 40 hours or so to complete, depending on how many side missions or optional extras you seek out.

Two 18th century tales centering on the Assassins/Templar feud

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag very much continues the narrative of the wider Assassins plight, focusing on Edward Kenway’s journey from rowdy pirate to owning up to his responsibility to protect people. Assassin’s Creed Rogue, on the other hand, flipped the script somewhat to see its protagonist turn from Assassin to Templar. Witness Shay’s descent into darkness as he is forced to hunt down his former companions.

A thrilling naval experience filled with high-seas combat

In-depth ship combat was first introduced in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, letting protagonist Edward Kenway upgrade and equip new weapons to his ship, the Jackdaw, to take on tougher enemies. All you need to do is venture out to the ocean and plunder as many ships as possible, ramming and gunning ships as necessary to come out on top. Assassin’s Creed Rogue continues this style of play.
