Microsoft’s XO19 event coming to London this November

Phil Spencer, executive vice president of gaming at Microsoft, has announced that the company’s annual Xbox fan event will return later this year – this time setting up shop in London. XO19 will arrive in the big smoke sometime this November, with Microsoft teasing that it’ll be “the largest live Inside Xbox episode and Xbox event of the year”. No exact date was given, but we do know that ticketing information will be released during Gamescom 2019 this August.

This news comes mere days after Xbox’s E3 2019 press conference, where the console maker disclosed more details about Project Scarlett, its upcoming Xbox One successor, and a whole host of other game related announcements. Chief amongst these was the reveal of Cyberpunk 2077’s release date (16th April 2020), Double Fine being absorbed as a first-party developer and new information about Halo Infinite and Gears of War 5.

It’s unlikely the XO19 will match the same calibre of high-profile games announcements as E3 when it comes to London later this November, but attendees can still expect to learn some interesting insights. XO18 held last year in Mexico City, for example, saw Microsoft announce the acquisition of Obsidian Entertainment, Crackdown 3’s release date and plenty more. Who knows what important titbits will be shared at XO19?
