It’s been non-stop bundle news for the past few weeks, and we’re not done yet! Sony have announced not one, not two, but three new bundles, coinciding with Activision’s upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, which launches on October 12th.

The bundles are all relatively simple, coming with just a digital download for the game and a standard black PS4. The difference between the bundles reflects the different models of PS4 included. There’s a PS4 Slim 500GB version, a PS4 Slim 1TB bundle and a PS4 Pro bundle.

These bundles aren’t a huge surprise; Call of Duty is always a popular seller, and Sony had the marketing rights to last year’s Call of Duty: WWII. However, it is a bit of a shame to see that there’s no special edition console in the bundles. One of last year’s CoD: WWII bundles came in a limited edition camo print. While not to everyone’s tastes, it’s always good to see a bit of variety, and with Black Ops 4’s orange and black colour palette, it wouldn’t have been too difficult to launch some nice designs.

Nevertheless, the bundle should be popular. While CoD’s popularity has dwindled somewhat since its heyday, Black Ops 4 could be the most popular edition in years. This will likely be down to the game’s Blackout mode, which offers battle royale-style gameplay that has become incredibly popular off the back of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite. This, combined with the polish synonymous with the Call of Duty brand, should prove a big hit.

An added bonus of these bundles is that the PlayStation 4 players will have exclusive access to some content for a limited time before other platforms.
