Last night’s State of Play livestream was full of cool announcements that sort of make up for PlayStation’s lack of E3 press conference this year. We got a fresh look at Final Fantasy VII Remake, the unveiling of new asynchronous multiplayer game, Predator: Hunting Grounds, but what we didn’t expected to see was the announcement of a new Limited Edition PS4 Slim.
An honorary follow-up to last year’s Days of Play Blue and Gold PS4 console, this new 2019 edition features a Steel Grey chassis with a slightly altered Triangle, Circle, X, and Square logo etched onto the side of the system. The corresponding Dualshock 4 gamepad also sports this fresh style, acting as a nice PS4 Slim upgrade for anyone who previously missed out on a piece of PlayStation History.
It might be a PS4 Slim rather than a Pro, but the 2019 Days of Play edition PS4 will at least come with 1TB of storage and will arrive in some fashion as early as June. There’s was no announcement as to what the availability of this limited edition console will be. But if the scarcity of 2018’s Days of Play PS4 is anything to go by, be prepared to get your pre-order in quick.
