It may have only been released two weeks ago, but the critically acclaimed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has already zoomed its way to sales success, making history as the fastest-selling digital Star Wars game ever. This news comes direct from publisher Electronic Arts itself, who also mention in the official press release that it is also the highest-rated Star Wars game of this console generation.
This immense sales success should come as a surprise when you consider that people have been hungry for a single-player focused Triple-A Star Wars game for ages, with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order being the first of these in almost 10 years. Prior to the release of Respawn Entertainment’s recent title on November 15th, 2010’s Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II (now not canon since Disney’s acquisition of Lucas Film) was all we had to tide us story preferred players over.
This news pretty much all but guarantees that we will be receiving a sequel to acclaimed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order in the near future, though it will likely be arriving on PS4 and Xbox One’s respective successors. While no sales figure has been explicitly given by EA, we can only assume that it’s extremely high given that publishers only share information about digital numbers if they choose to. In terms of the physical sales charts, meanwhile, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order trails only behind Pokémon Sword and Shield.
