By On 16th August, 2012

Gamescom 2012 kicked off this week in Germany, only its third event but has become brilliantly popular over its short lifespan. We follow it religiously here at just like E3 and have picked a few of our highlights of the event so far.

For all the Vita fans, I’m sure you will be relieved about the amount of effort and time Sony are putting into vita titles and the continuous drive to sell more consoles and games. The Sony conference showed off 4 Vita titles so lets take a look at each one:

Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified

The first details about the PlayStation Vita version of call of duty, Black Ops: Declassified, it steps back to the time of the first Black Ops game. A popular first person shooter is just want the PS Vita really needs and the pressure is on developers Nihilistic Software to come up with an explosive game. Here is the Gamescom Trailer

Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation

Another PS Vita Exclusive, Assassin’s Creed 3 is one of the most anticipated games of the year and the series is making its way to the Vita. It follows the story of a new lead Female character and with the Vita’s touch screen players will be able to navigate roof tops and walls with a swipe of their fingers

Need for Speed Most Wanted

Criterion have been developing the latest need for speed game and have called it “one of the best racing games on the vita.” The Vita version will be the same as its console counter parts and apparently features remote play from PS Vita to PS3, so you can finish off a game on your Vita that you were originally playing on your PS3. The developers showed off a multiplayer trailer at gamescom, enjoy!

Killzone Mercenary Vita

One of Sony’s biggest franchises, Killzone has inevitably been announced for the PS Vita and we got a glimpse of what the shooter will look like and how it use the multiple touchscreen features of the system. This one I’m really excited about!
