Day 10 – Call of Duty: Ghosts E3

Yes, Starting with the big guns, literally. Call of Duty: Ghosts is the upcoming shooter from Infinity Ward and Activison. this time round it has promised to be a breathe of fresh air, with a new and gritty storyline that will have more meaning and emotion, lets be honest since Call of Duty 2, they have all pretty much been the same story.
How’s it look?
COD:Ghosts will feature a new engine built by the developers which isn’t an entire new build but instead a significant upgrade from the same engine of previous games. This has caused a slight stir, as IGN described it “Call of Duty: Ghosts Isn’t Breathtakingly Next-Gen and that’s okay.” “Why not?” I hear you scream? Well with a new console there is almost always an awkward transition period, where developers are not quite sure how the system will cope. So Ghosts has been improved less substantially then we would first imagine, so that it can deliver that magical 60FPS constantly to provide that lightning quick gameplay we have come to love.
Kinect Voice Commands
Eric Hirshberg, Activisions CEO, confirmed that any Xbox One players will be able to use their voice to command their squad. ““We think the improvements to Kinect really excited us because of the level of responsiveness and detail”, said Hirshberg. “I thought that the demo they did with the voice commands on television, the instant changing between games and music, was really compelling. You’ll see more of this coming from us as we get closer to the launch.”
Xbox One & PS4 Launch Title
If any one can remember back to the Xbox 360 launch ( 8 years? ) then you will remember that a certain Call of Duty 2 was one of the launch titles, and what a success that was. So will Call of Duty: Ghosts help drive those Xbox One sales or will most people be playing on their older consoles.
Call of Duty:Ghosts is coming to PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3 & Xbox 360 on the suggested release date of November 5th. As of writing this post there is currently no plans for the game to be released on the Nintendo Wii U. Maybe an E3 surprise?
Let us know if your looking forward to Call of Duty:Ghosts, or will it just be another generic shooter like the last few in the series?
