How many more times can we say it? Xbox Game Pass is one of the best deals in gaming right now, giving subscribers access to a rotating library of well over 100 titles for just one low monthly fee. The typical price is just £7.99 per month, but even then there’s the option to join an “Ultimate” version where the benefits of both Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold combine – that version is £10.99. Either way works out to be an incredibly affordable way to play, especially with so many great games downloadable in May 2020.

The following is a regularly updated list of all the games currently playable on Xbox Game Pass via a standard entry-level Xbox One S or a super-charged Xbox One X. We’ve picked out a few highlights and recommendations in between, pointing you in a good direction in terms of what to play first.

If you’re wondering what this tentpole fighting series has been up to since the days of its 90s review, Mortal Kombat X won’t disappoint. Continuing the story of 2011’s soft reboot, it features a roster of classic and new playable characters that are all experts at dealing death. Few other fighting game franchises place such emphasis on narrative and gore – so it’s nice to know that this 10th mainline entry into the series is here to appease.
